The GSLFIA makes this scholarship possible to provide advanced training in any area of
aviation to qualified applicants who promote safety, knowledge, professionalism and
proficiency in their flight instruction.
The person applying for this scholarship must meet the following criteria:
- Submit a complete application.
- Submit the names and phone numbers of three references. Please include a flight instructor and a previous or current student as two of your references.
- Be a current member of GSLFIA.
- Have completed the written test (if applicable) for the certificate or rating sought.
- Submit a statement/paragraph that addresses your goals in aviation and how this certificate/rating will help you accomplish these goals.
The scholarship will be awarded to individuals selected by the board of directors of the Greater St. Louis Flight Instructors Association or by a committee determined by the board. The award will cover the flight instruction necessary to complete the rating by a GSLFIA flight instructor, check ride by a GSLFIA designee, and the aircraft rental fees in amounts predetermined, not to exceed $800. A request for additional monies may be considered on a case by case basis.
